‘Rigorous thinking at all times forces her to focus on the essential. There's no room for the superficial in Haguiko's work. She does things as if they couldn't be any other way. You are overwhelmed by the obviousness of her work: clouds, rocks, boxes... Why didn't I think of this before? Too late! It belongs to her.
Space remains the main component of her work, despite her complicity with clay. She allows us to become aware of the space radiated by the piece placed ‘there’. The void vibrates mysteriously. It's fascinating, that's how it is! It's Japanese.
